Savor fine dining in one of Sturbridge's historic sites. Early American dining is at its best in the Oxhead Tavern, built in 1820. Sip a microbrew and have some friendly conversation at the VIP's Lounge while sitting next to the inviting fireplace and large screen TV. Or visit The Sturbridge American Grille, a quieter more intimate touch of Americana located off the lobby of the hotel.

The Oxhead Tavern

The Oxhead Tavern is a part of New England History. Built in 1820 in the Town of Brimfield, the Oxhead Tavern served as a meetinghouse for the town's Congregational Church. In 1834, it was hauled by oxen to Fiskdale. There it was a Church for Irish Catholics. Then in 1860, the building was converted to a Shoe Factory.

It wasn't until 1940 that it began its life as a tavern. Then in 1973, the old building was moved once again to the shore of Cedar Lake. So as you visit the Oxhead Tavern, remember, you too are now a part of New England history.

The Oxhead Tavern is Open Monday-Saturday 11am-9pm and Sunday 12-9pm.

VIP's Lounge

If you are in the mood to sip on a local Microbrew or have a great Martini VIP's is the place.

You can watch the game on one of the three televisions, sit down for a light lunch or enjoy some great appetizers.

The weekends offer entertainment. VIP's is located just off the lobby.

The Sturbridge American Grille

A quieter more intimate touch of Americana located off the lobby of the Sturbridge Host Hotel. Offering Classic American favorites & creatively inspired Chef's Nightly Specials such as Classic Yankee Beef Stew, American Filet Mignon, Salmon Brioche or Veal Saltimbocca. The Sturbridge American Grille provides a relaxing atmosphere to enjoy perfectly chilled wine paired with great food!
